We popped into The Met on a whim one Sunday brunch time and didn’t expect to get a table; however, they had one available for a small amount of time before a booking turned up, so we sat in. They were even accommodating of us having a toddler with us, which was nice.

Just to note, they had a high chair (possibly only one, I’m not sure), but I don’t know if they have changing facilities and they didn’t have a children’s menu, so just be aware of this if taking small children.

The ox cheek hash was so so good! I really wasn’t expecting to like it quite as much, as I don’t particularly like hollandaise and it seemed weird to have gravy on the dish, but the flavours and textures blended together beautifully. I’d highly recommend this if you go for brunch. My husband had the eggs benedict and definitely had food envy, despite saying it was nice.

For how ‘posh’/upmarket it seems, the prices weren’t overly expensive compared to other restaurants in the area, which we were pleasantly surprised about.

I look forward to going back one evening and trying the main menu (sans little one). It seems like a great place to go out with friends for drinks and good food.
